The purpose of this project was to create an entire campaign based off a hypothetical business. two crows is a hypothetical upcycling boutique that seeks to create an eco-friendly line of clothing. It focuses on recycling textiles and creating a clean and professional appearance to combat the dirty stigma of used clothes. It should appeal to a target audience of 19-34yr old college aged demographic and look as high quality and attractive as new clothing.
The name two crows comes from the observation that crows recycle objects as tools. Playing with idea of found objects, scraps of fabric are used to create an appearance of recycled clothes throughout the posters and website. The color choices resembled an antique mood yet refreshing with the use of negative space. An old western typeface was used, along with Garamond to creating an overall sense of renewed freshness.
The purpose of this project was to propose a business that would be tested to see if it would be successful in the real world. Spice Cream is a hypothetical specialty ice cream shop that focuses on creating experimental flavors with the use of spices. Since ice cream is enjoyed by all ages, the ice cream shop needs to be appealing to all people, while expressing their distinct qualities of experimental flavors. To emphasize the ice cream, organic shapes were used as an important motif. This is also accompanied with a liquid-like decorative typeface. The ice cream shop remains family friendly with the use of cartoon fruit and other elements, and the use of bright colors. Lastly, stars are sprinkled throughout all deliverables to reflect the spices uniquely used on the ice creams.
Bread & Circus is a hypothetical restaurant that is named after the old Roman saying “if you keep people fed and entertained, they will be happy and active in the community.” The objective of the project was to base a restaurant off a real client, and create the visuals off their personality and beliefs. The client, Adriano Castra Rota, is a local baker with a deep passion to recreate the food from the Roman Empire era, and share their admirable traditions and stories. The choice to create Bread & Circus as a food truck was to reflect the Roman tendencies to travel the old world, seeking new goods, and to share their hospitality customs with any guest.
Ample is an application that assists users in finding their perfect ideal location. This collaborative project sought to create an application that would enhance the local lifestyle by helping people find “third spaces” based off their mood. This would give users the incentive to become regulars at social spots and bring overall traffic growth to local businesses.
As visual designer in this collaborative project, I created the visual identity and branding of Ample. The challenge for this project was to communicate our focal words, lifestyle and community, for a service with no physical product. The logo was created to emphasized a friendly and approachable nature through its round qualities. A space theme was also added to the brand to play off the words “third space”.
Luminescent is a hypothetical festival conceived from the challenge words “complicated monotony”. The objective of the project was to create an idea and its visual components based of two unlikely word pairing. Luminescent is a painting festival that last from day to night. Transforming regular colors seen in day, to new glowing art at night. The challenge of the project was to create a visual system for my target audience, families and kids. Playing with the idea of imagination, photography was illustrated on to transform kids to fun characters. Paint textures were used throughout to maintain its focus on arts and crafts.
