As an IBMer, I am sometimes asked to create animated social gifs. These are times where I can honestly play and take the time to practice my animation skills. I am given a pending IBV report to be released, potential social post copy, and the freedom to interpret it visually. Beyond what I personally animate, I often times storyboard for others and help communicate the vision for the project.
All of these gifs can be found on the IBM Institute for Business Value official Twitter page.
Everyone deserves to feel appreciated! For internal IBMers, these stickers are a tool to show appreciation to fellow coworkers and possibly clients too in a cute and fun way!
I collaborated in a quick sprint to animate these adorable ducks. They were inspired by endearing Japanese sayings to one another and made to fit into a western audience.
All That Matters is a motion graphic video that is challenged to be metaphoric. The story behind the motion graphic is about the struggles of my mother when I was personally growing up. To communicate a coming-of-age story about a struggling mother and her children, birds were used. The mother bird is introduced as hard working, and at some points, isolated. The children are followed as they grow up from nest to flying. The colors are left calm and nostalgic.
This 3D motion graphic video was inspired by the many birds found on the New Guinea islands. The goal of the project was to create a conceptual video that represented information in an unexpected way. Utilizing an existing audio, (credit to Netflix’s “Our Planet”) I was able to create a parody of the unique mating dances of the birds found on these islands. Putting the setting in the middle of a forest, it created an exclusive and exotic ritual feel to the video. One of the challenges that was overcome, was creating a dynamic video despite having one stage. Dynamic and quick camera movements were focused on to bring the most life out of the bird and scene.
